Your ability to connect your art passion with the passion you have for health causes is so unique. The work you do is intriguing to those who are not involved in your movement, and it gives people the opportunity to see what participatory medicine is. Thank you for sharing your views with the world, and I hope you have continued success! I have always felt that it is of the upmost importance to appreciate the stories and experiences of every individual and your walking gallery does exactly that. Thank you for inspiring me to look for small ways in which I can make a big difference in the world!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6993740852730466692.post-23348665168384068472014-02-18T16:40:15.806-08:002014-02-18T16:40:15.806-08:00It's incredible and very inspiring how you hav...It's incredible and very inspiring how you have used a personal situation of grief in order to motivate yourself and others to bring change. The pictures you draw have such deep meaning behind them and are truly thought provoking. This whole painting from the web, to the people portrayed in it, to the torch at the very center of it all, were very thoughtfully done. There are very few other medians that can truly express what one is feeling like art, which is why your efforts are such a great thing. Truly can't wait to meet you tomorrow! This blog post really relayed your experiences at the 1st Health Informatics Tri-State Summit on the campus of the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville as thought I myself was attending the same events you did. I found your commentary on HIE meetings throughout the country to be particularly insightful, because it is indeed true that different meetings will have different approaches and outlooks to the same topic. I also think reading this blog post provided me the background and information to more fully appreciate the specific painting you discuss. Because there are many symbols you have incorporated in your art piece, the detailed discussion in the blog post gives context to your imagery, and helps me have a more in depth, empowering perspective as I view your art work. My favorite component of the painting is the incorporation of an LED, representing the positive potential of technology. This is an especially significant point to make in the context of patient advocacy, given the advent of the use of electronic medical records. The statement you are making about proper use and implementation of technology resonates with many patients throughout the country, and the way you relay such a profound stance through the relatable concept of an LED light is commendable. I am looking forward to your visit to New Jersey, where I currently study!Asmi Panigrahinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6993740852730466692.post-87619864436087130532014-02-16T09:11:43.269-08:002014-02-16T09:11:43.269-08:00It was remarkable to see how this painting was gen...It was remarkable to see how this painting was generated as you went through the course of the conference. Each individual story had an integral part in the overall message and structure of the painting and it was great to see all of them expressed. Additionally I loved how the painting incorporated subtle metaphors (cobweb) to express the importance/method of maintaining HIE's.
