As I walked around the gallery at the KP Center For Total Health that day, everyone I met and talked with also wore many hats... as doctors, as administrators, as family members & loved ones, as advocates, as artists, etc. I think that's part of why everyone felt so energized; it was exciting to hear about all of the wonderful things people are working on and made us each feel like we could still be doing MORE!

Just yesterday I made my 1st trip back to the Center For Total Health, this time wearing my DCPCA hat. It was the Regional Primary Care Coalition's quarterly meeting and they started talking about documenting stories of patient experience - going far beyond "patient satisfaction" (though they werent, yet, familiar with the term e-Patients or the Society for Participatory Medicine)... More and more I see how all of this is connected... it's not just a few disparate bright shiny objects capturing our attention. There is a plan for all of this, and we all play a role (many roles) in getting the work done. And we're making progress.

Shameless plug: Check out MarbleRoad's art show during National Health Center Week, August 7-13, 2011, in partnership with Lutheran Family Health Centers in New York City - http://www.FlammableHeart.comHowiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17032816285506138319noreply@blogger.com
