One of my hopes is that the PWP model, of inclusion and respect, would transform the way that we do professional meetings. I would love to see what happens if a HealthCa.mp emerged at the APA conference, or some of the other, well-established professional gatherings. What could we do? Thanks for inviting us to ask, to imagine, to dream, to demand change.

Warmly,
AnnAnn Becker-Schutte, Ph.D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08811791856947238859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6993740852730466692.post-79654023100028642462012-10-31T06:14:46.102-07:002012-10-31T06:14:46.102-07:00I loved being there. Regina -- you created another living 'masterpiece' with this event! I am grateful to have participated and to have met you and all the wonderful people who attended. And, what strikes me is that the conference hasn't ended...the conversations are still going on...and they will continue to do so in meaningful ways for months, years to come. This is because of you and your efforts to bring us all together. Thank you for this and for the incredible work you are doing to make sure the patient is at the center of any and all medical concerns. I too look forward to the next conference! Congratulations for your success and again, thank you. We are appreciative to you for showing everyone that crowdfunding in healthcare could work better and faster than anyone could imagine. As one of the first dozen successful projects on our site, you helped lead the way and are part of our current 67% success rate, about ten times better than healthcare does general crowdfunding sites. I had the opportunity to present (speak) twice and receive supportive, actionable criticism. My brother was buoyed by the camaraderie of empowered patients on various paths toward justice and health. The providers who attended must have self-selected because they were courageous in their quest to understand issues with probing questions and great respect for patients/advocates. Many thanks to Cerner and all who donated, sponsored, mentored and presented. I am still processing the transforming experience of being in the right place at the right time!
