My
name is Regina Holliday. This is my blog. I do all I can to spread
the patient story. My work is inspired by my late husband Fred Holliday, II and his attempt to get appropriate care and medical record access during 11 continuous weeks in hospitals in 2009. He died in the 12th week.
I have over 20k followers on twitter. I have over 3000 friends on facebook. All of them listen to this story. We can improve healthcare if we share our stories and never give up. I founded a movement called The Walking Gallery of Healthcare and at this point there are over 400 members wearing art to spread the patient story. The movement grows everyday we share the stories of our care.

ReplyDeleteSome do-it-yourself e-patient geek notes, for future readers:
1. Memorable URLs:
I'm constantly trying to refer people to sites whose URL I can't remember, so I've learned to make customized Bit.ly URLs. I made one for this timeline: bit.ly/ReginaTimeline (case sensitive).
Other favorites:
bit.ly/PewHealthTips (a cheat sheet of Susannah's best health statistics)
bit.ly/botheramedlib (list of medlibs who are happy to take questions)
bit.ly/DataSong (Ross Martin's "gimme my DaM data" song)
2. The Wayback Machine
When you said the original timeline was lost, I went to the Wayback Machine and traveled back to June 2010 to find the last version.
Well, it USED to be called the Wayback Machine, but officially it's archive.org. It takes snapshots of the whole frickin' internet.(!) You go there and enter a URL, and it'll show you a calendar with the various snapshots of that page.
They're asking for donations - I'm doin' one now!
Social media and open tools rock. So do you.
Thanks Dave! Thanks for always guiding us to the tools we need need to improve future outcomes.

ReplyDeleteYou are a WOW, Regina! I was impressed with such a long struggle and yet you end up with success. I am a visual artist and as I was passing through your timeline, I get fascinated with those murals and canvass paintings. You have been into a lot of different topics in the human life and I hope one day, as I am very particular with addiction, rehab centers follow the same way of success.
